Mastering the Art of Fried Halloumi

If you haven’t tried pan fried halloumi you are are missing out! This recipe is sure to make your taste buds do a happy dance. Whether enjoyed as an appetizer, side dish, or even the star of the show, this crispy delight never fails to impress.


1 block Barossa Cheese halloumi (or your favourite halloumi) sliced
5 sprigs of thyme
1 lemon
1/4 cup garlic-infused olive oil
Season to taste (Be careful as halloumi is salty, so season only if needed)
Chilli flakes can be added


  1. Slice the halloumi into strips
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl and stir
  3. Pour over the Halloumi and ensure the pieces are coated. 
  4. Cook in a hot pan or BBQ and adjust the heat if needed. Pan fry until golden coloured on both sides

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve alone with sweet sauce
  • Serve with any salad
